
Systems of Energy
“Everything is made of Energy.” Top scientists currently agree that energy makes up all matter in the known universe. On a smaller, more manageable scale, that includes you and me. The very stuff that makes up the moon and the sun, and the air we breathe also makes up every molecule in our bodies - our lungs, lips, feet, esophagus, liver, etc. This stuff is also burned within us for fuel - fuel to walk, run, think, and speak. We have the opportunity to live every day and experience all this life has to offer thanks to “ENERGY.”
I believe we can harness our unlimited power if we are able to understand, respect, nourish, and work with our Systems of Energy.
Life is a constant evolution of intake and output. What we intake through digestion, respiration, and absorption becomes an output of either expended or stored energy depending, in part, on how we utilize movement.
DIGESTION - The foods we eat, and those that our parents ate, become the building blocks of our bodies. Proteins build our skeleton and muscle, fats create a functioning brain and hormonal system, and carbohydrates feed the fire of every job of every cell. We can trace our food chain from how plants such as fruits and veggies take nutrients from the soil, and energy from the sun and create their own life story. Animals, like us, then eat and digest said nutrients and energy for their own life story. The makeup and quality of these nutrients changes drastically depending on the source. That is why learning how to identify quality foods that are pleasing to the digestive system nourish your energy, and poor quality “foods” that have been heavily tampered with bring disease and fatigue (static energy).
ABSORPTION - Sun, Mud, and Everything we touch is absorbed through our skin. A few simple changes can give us happy skin and cleaner insides like swapping our beauty and cleaning products to more natural, less toxic options. Like your digestive system your skin also loves vitamins and minerals. Try a fresh fruit face mask - blend banana, cherries, strawberries, and honey.
RESPIRATION - Take this opportunity to take a deliciously deep breath…. Feel your lungs expand. Let’s clean this up. We can breathe sweet fresh air, learn how to use our lungs to direct our hormones, and send the food that nourishes our respiration. Maybe start by introducing a snake plant into your home.
MOVEMENT - How our bodies use the energy in our systems.
My favorite. This is the ability to live the experience of this life in this natural world. There is only so much I can say about movement, but the EXPERIENCE of movement is the greatest teacher. Yoga, volleyball, and soccer are my favorite. Oh! And hiking! There is nothing like climbing a mountain!!! No matter how much friction you have in your life keeping you from exercising, know there is ALWAYS a place to start. Motivation to move your body will grow if you put in the effort on the days that motivation is nowhere to be seen. Trust me, once your body gets used to moving it will become a craving. There are so many benefits, including reduction in pain and the ability to live a fuller life.
